IEA PVPS Task 13

IEA PVPS Task 13: Performance and Reliability of Photovoltaic Systems

IEA PVPS – International Energy Agency Photovoltaic Power Systems Program – Task 13 is working with  ”Performance and Reliability of Photovoltaic Systems”.

IEA PVPS Task 13: Sun follower testing 7 types of modules at EURACs test field in Bolzano April 2016.

Strategies

IEA PVPS Task 13 strategies are to contribute in:

  • Trustworthy PV (photovoltaic) systems in growing markets
  • Increase performance of PV systems
  • Contribute to new business models

Main goals for Swedish team

SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden is project leader for the Swedish project team. Our main goals are to increase and share our knowledge about statistical analysis of PV systems and PV module characterization and reliability.
As the installations increase more knowledge and competence is needed to ensure reliable long term cost effectiveness. IEA PVPS is today the most competent international network to produce and spread knowhow about PV module quality. Therefore it is very important that Sweden participate in this work.
Project participants represent four different organizations (SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden, ABB, Solkompaniet and Paradisenergi) with complementary backgrounds.
Better models for electricity production cost, better methods for quality control of PV installations and also better methods to follow up electricity production are expected from this project, all important in the growing market of renewable electricity production in Sweden.
